(ANTARA News) - Professor of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman
Darma Putra rate, the story of the meeting, friendship and love between
people of Bali with foreign tourists, a dominant theme that emerged
repeatedly in Bali literary works from the 1960s until now.
"Balinese
literary works emerged against the background of the development of
tourism in Bali, which was likely to move towards mass tourism," said
Prof Darma Putra, a professor in the Department of Literature Faculty of
Letters Indonesia University of Udayana in Denpasar, Thursday.
He said the development of mass tourism which creates conflicting feelings. On
the one hand to welcome the economic benefits of tourism, as promised,
but on the other hand was worried about the negative impact of tourism
on Balinese culture and society.
Modern
literature in the 2010 Bali experienced significant growth, as
evidenced by the emergence of a novel in the mass media and publishing a
book about it.
Bali
Modern Literature books, published during the year 2010 as many as 13
titles, an increase from the previous year which recorded nine titles. The
emergence of historical novels in modern Balinese literature became one
of the phenomena that follow the latest trend in Indonesian literature.
Prof
Darma Putra added, the author of the response to the ambiguous views on
the impact of tourism can be traced in the works he wrote.
In
the span of five decades, the 1960s to the 2000s, there were 14 short
stories and novels that tourism background, which describes the
relationship of friendship or romance Bali-Bule.

Darma Putra explained, there are many mixed mating pairs of the
